Charity Update – CP Sport
Ambassador of CP Sport
It was with great honour to accept the invitation to become the newest
Ambassador of CP Sport
What is CP Sport?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of permanent movement disorders that cause poor communication , stiff muscles, weak muscles and tremors. It can also cause challenges with sensation, vision, hearing, swallowing and speaking. Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport) is the country’s leading national disability sport organisation supporting people with cerebral palsy. They not only help people to reach their sporting potential but also help them reach their life potential and improve quality of life through sport and active recreation.
What is my involvement?
My journey of becoming a 2 times world champion in the sport of paratriathlon has taught me of the important role that sport can play in the quality of a persons life. It was with great honour to accept the invitation to become the newest Ambassador to the charity.
Although my disability is not cerebral palsy the experiences and journey that I have been on enables me to have great synergy with all of the athletes. I commit to inspire and motivate all persons involved in CP Sport to think about what they can participate in rather than what they can’t. To not lean on their excuses but to be the best that they can be when they play and to enjoy life to the full.
