Charity Update – Scouting
My focus for charity work over the last couple of months has been within the Scouts Association.
The Scouts Association is the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation that gives the chance for 6 to 25-year-olds to experience fun and challenging activities, unique experiences and everyday adventure. It also gives them the opportunity and teaches how to help others and make a positive impact in communities.
What is my involvement?
Those who know my journey know that scouting is an important part of who I am. It is where my journey began, which is why it is always such a privilege to give something back.
I ran a goal setting workshop with a Scout group in Belper, Derbyshire which was so much fun. Finding out what the young people’s visions are and inspiring them to work towards them. Giving the children of the future the basic tools to help them believe in themselves and motivate them to achieve.
I then had the Honour to be the guest speaker at the County AGM in Hertfordshire which was an amazing privilege and always good to hand out the awards to the fantastic volunteers that make it all happen.
Volunteering not only brings me great happiness but also gives young people the chance to gain life skills and opportunities
